2015 Reading Goals/2014 wrap up

I'm doing this now because I'm bored.

Quick look back at the goals I had for this year....

One was finish Lord of the Rings which I failed at miserably. By the middle of the year I hadn't progressed much further than I had the previous year so I moved it back to the to be read list. One day I will finish this book. One day. The other thing I didn't do was do something with the blog I created. I came to the conclusion, as much as I like reading blogs and following bloggers on twitter and Booklikes, I am rubbish at it myself.  I'm much happier reviewing on Goodreads and Booklikes and I use Booklikes blog feature when I want to post bloggy things that aren't reviews.

Things I did manage to do - one of my goals was finish a series with more than 5 books. Which I did. I read Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instrument series. And loved every last book. Another series I finished was Lauren Kate's Fallen series. Which was another one I loved. (I know its only 4 books and I was half way through the last one at the end of the December last year - but still! A finished series! I'm not very good at finishing series).

One of my goals was to read more Trilogies I read The Silver Chain trilogy by Primula Bond (Adult erotica) which is usually not my thing but these books were surprisingly good. I also read The Selection trilogy. Which was beyond stupid but impossible for me to put down. And inspite of how annoying the characters were I kind of loved it anyway. And I also finished the Anna and The French Kiss trilogy. I loved Anna and Isla and the Happy Ever After, but I didn't finish Lola and the Boy Next Door. However, I loved Anna so much I read it again, and I will be giving Lola another shot.

One of my goals was to finish my outstanding Netgalley books. I finished the ones outstanding from the end of last year, but I've got a whole bunch more this year and don't really see myself finishing them before year end. These days my views on Netgalley is if I get them, great, if not its not the end of the world, and I read them when I feel in the mood.

I did quite a few reading challenges this year.  Parajunkee.com Vampire Challenge 10 books with vampires in. Which I did. Which was a lot harder than I thought it would be! I did quite a few other challenges - a read along for Anna, Lola and Isla. And the Bookish Bingo cards from Great Imaginations blog. I completed the Spring and Holiday themed cards.

Plans for next year - continue with reading more trilogies. Finish another series. Any series no matter how many books. I've not signed up for any challenges, I haven't been looking. At the moment, I'm not really that interested, I like reading what I want without having to get it done in a certain time frame. Though  probably at some point if Bookish Bingo continues next year, I will pick that one up again. I do like those ones.

So that's about it from me. I will have another post at some point with my top books of 2014.
