I received a copy from Netgalley.

I'm not a fan of classics, but I do love retellings, especially of stories I know well, and while a 'Christmas Carol' has been retold to death, a YA retellings with a Valentine twist was something I really wanted to read. Unfortunately, I didn't really like it that much.

There was nothing particularly wrong with it, Ben's grief was quite moving at the start of the novel and it's easy to understand the pain he's in, but once the sprits started appearing...I don't know. It was all a little....meh. It's not that its badly written or anything, can't fault the writing. I liked seeing Ben's eyes opened as he goes through the familiar motions with the spirits. (My favorite characters in the whole thing were Tiny and Tim, they were just the sweetest come ever.)

Something just didn't really work for me. It was a quick and cute read with a good, sweet message, but just didnt work for me personally.
