This book is something I've heard of many times before, and seen in bookshops but never really picked up as it always sounded a bit too technical for my liking. Plus WWII fiction has never really interested me. But last year I read Prisoner of Night and Fog and loved it, so when I saw the Verity books in the library I snagged them both.
It did take a while to get into, and was very technical but I absolutely loved this book. The quote on the cover from the book I borrowed described it as "both heart breaking and uplifting at the same time and a privilege to read". That pretty much sums up exactly how I felt once finished. I can't even think of the words to do justice to how much I loved this book.
Crosses off a square for Spring Bingo - WWII.
